If I’m photographing cemeteries that are abandoned or poorly maintained I try to shoot most of the headstones. The WCGS Index Number refers to the designation found in the cemetery indexes published by the Wilson County Genealogical Society. Volumes I-III are family and church cemeteries; Vol IV is Maplewood; Vol V, not yet published, is Rest Haven abd Rountree, Vol VI has been released and is currently available at the library. Volumes I-IV are available for review in the main public library. I am preparing an index of the first 3 volumes that I hope have completed by the end of 2021.
